Hong Kong International Fur & Fashion Fair
The Hong Kong fur industry dates back to the 1930s when several fur experts left China to set up workshops and points of sale in Hong Kong.
Initially, the trade turned to the increasingly rich domestic market and then to the tourists.
Thanks to their expert workmanship and the support of overseas furs, the Hong Kong fur industry has seen significant expansion.
Hong Kong is now the world’s largest exporter of fine fur garments.
Hong Kong offers customers a quality-price relationship, consistency of quality and delivery reliability that are simply the best in the world.
Hong Kong companies have continuously improved their excellent craftsmanship and explored new techniques that allow fur designers to develop new themes.
New-looking furs – light and colorful, dyed, bleached, pinched or knit, double-sided or textured – show off the versatility of fur as a high-fashion fabric for all seasons with increasing appeal for younger consumers.
In 1979, the Hong Kong Fur Federation was established to coordinate fur trade activities and promote its development.
Today it is a thriving organization with over 150 members, representing the overwhelming majority of the Hong Kong industry.
Except for fur production, the Federation includes members from all sectors of the industry, from the distribution and processing of raw materials (leather and skin retailers) to production and marketing.
Every year the Hong Kong Fur Federation organizes a program of activities in Hong Kong and overseas to promote the fur industry. Empowered by its ingenious flexibility and creativity, as well as with the full support of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council in various events, the Hong Kong fur industry flourished with flying colors.
In the coming years, the Hong Kong Feather Federation will strive to support the Hong Kong statue as the world’s leading fur manufacturing and exporter center through a full range of promotions and marketing activities.
