The edition of Simac Tanning Tech 2018 has come to a close and the key event for leather processing machinery manufacturers has delivered promising signals for the upcoming future, especially for digital cutting. Throughout SIMAC, the biggest push for innovation came from the automotive industry where many players are increasingly shifting their focus towards industrial automation news_webiste-4solutions that are designed to optimize the entire production workflow rather than a single stage of the chain. In fact, in this specific market segment, there is a wider window for tailored engineering projects and industry operators are much more open to discuss about production automation.

However, the trend that characterized each of the 3 days at our booth was the considerable growth of contacts from many important markets such as Easter Europe, Italy and United States where improving macro-economic conditions are driving and boosting investment in production capacity.

In a context where technological evolution is under everyone’s eyes, the reasons for industry operators to not miss out on the trade fair were indeed many like, for instance: the shift toward Industry 4.0 production philosophies along with the integration of IT and manufacturing infrastructures, sustainability and reduction of energy consumption, along with, eventually, raw hides yield maximization and workflow optimization.

In this fashion, the introduction of the integration between the brand new Plaza T and the Seeker System was the catalyst of every visitor’s interest. This integration brings a leap in operational efficiency for the increasingly more frequent applications involving digital printing on leathers and roll materials as it will enable shorter set up times and a dramatic reduction in costs for raw hides and consumables.

The fact that, for the manufacturers of automobiles components, footwear and leather goods, competitiveness is fostered by innovation and automation has now surged to a consolidated trend that Elitron has fully embraced and for which has shown throughout Simac 2018 its commitment to.
