Fimec, a focus on information and networking
The 43rd edition of Fimec returns to welcome the entire sector of leathers, chemical products, components, and materials for the footwear and tanning industries to Novo Hamburgo in Brazil from 26 to 28 February in the Fenac pavilions.
A unique marketplace for the footwear and tanning industries located across the American continent, Fimec presents itself with the claim “where industry creates business”, with a selection of more than 500 businesses that reply to the needs of the entire sector, from leathers to raw materials and logistics. Promoter of introducing new technologies, businesses and innovation in the sector, Fimec always invites leading footwear/tanning professionals of national and international renown to the Fimec Forum taking place in conjunction with the event on 27 February. Now in its second edition, among the Forum’s speakers will be Thomas Michaelis, Head of Technical Coverings for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Covestro, who will speak on “Textile coatings, the impact from changing the solvent system to water-based chemical products in the industry”. Another confirmed talk is “The future of design and manufacturing”, with Rob Bruce, a top creative leader from the United States who has worked with Apple, Nike, Google, and Coca-Cola. There will then be “Fashion: my journey” with Claudia Narciso, fashion and strategy consultant from Arezzo.
Products, information, and networking are the keys to the success of this event that continues to reinforce itself even during periods of crisis in the market, thanks to its professional and committed organisational team that turns every edition into an extraordinary one.
Fimec will be held in Novo Hamburgo, which is considered one of the main clusters of Brazilian footwear/leather manufacturing, with the support of the sector’s leading trade associations, including Abicalçados (footwear), ABQTIC (leather industry chemicals and techniques), ABRAMEQ (machines), ASSINTECAL (components), CICB (leather industry), IBTEC (Brazilian Institute of Technology for Leather, Footwear and Accessories), etc.…
