Formula, the new generation of machines for injection onto uppersThe new machine for the direct injection of polyurethane soles onto uppers proposed by Stemma is designed to offer the utmost adaptability to increasingly comprehensive and complex manufacturing processes.
The increase in labour costs in South-East Asia pushes footwear manufacturers to find new solutions for their productions. In this context, also thanks to the introduction of lighter and better performing polyurethane materials, more and more companies are opting for “direct injection systems” for their development programs.
The injection onto uppers, which so far has been used mainly to manufacture work shoes or, when possible, to contain labour costs on large-scale lines, today is a concrete alternative for sports and fashionable productions.
In order to meet new needs, Stemma proposes “Formula”, the new machine for the direct injection of polyurethane soles onto uppers, designed to offer the utmost adaptability to increasingly comprehensive and complex manufacturing processes.
Besides traditional shoes with double density soles (PUPU, TPUPU), Formula enables to use new systems like the vacuum in the mould for the use of TPU films, varnishing made directly in the mould and the innovative spray moulding technology.
Besides, thanks to an extremely large mould-holder and a mould handling system patented by Stemma, Formula enables the production of shoes with a double density/hardness midsole moulded on a rubber or TPU outsole.
