Formula: the new generation of upper injection moulding machinesInnovative and versatile, the new Stemma S.r.l. injection moulding system can also be adapted to complex production systems, like TPU film vacuum forming, varnishing directly in the mould and spray-up.
The increase in labour costs in the South-East Asia is forcing footwear manufacturers to seek out new production solutions. In this scenario, also thanks to the introduction of lighter and higher performing polyurethane materials, companies are increasingly turning to injection moulding systems as part of their development plan.
Until recently, upper injection moulding was mainly used to produce work footwear or, when possible, to contain manpower costs in large-scale production lines, but, today, it has now become a concrete production alternative even in the sports and fashion sector.
To respond to these new needs, Stemma has produced ‘Formula’, a new injection moulding machine for the direct injection of polyurethane uppers and soles, specifically designed to provide maximum adaptability for today’s increasingly complete and complex production processes.
As well as the traditional product with a dual density sole (PUPU, TPUPU), Formula allows for the use of new systems, such as TPU film vacuum forming, varnishing directly in the mould and the innovative spray-up moulding technology
Furthermore, thanks to an extremely wide mould support and Stemma’s patented motion system, Formula also allows for the production of dual density midsoles, in two different thicknesses/hardness’ moulded onto a rubber or TPU sole.
