The Latin America fashion system once again reunited at Inspiramais, the event dedicated to previews of materials – fabrics, leather, synthetics, accessories, and components – for the winter 2018, allowing 150 exhibitors to interact with the style offices and buyers of leading labels in clothing, accessories, jewellery, furnishings, and footwear, as well as with the international press.

Held at the Pro Magno Events Centre in São Paulo, Brazil, this past 3 and 4 July, the event confirmed itself to be the ideal platform for launching new projects, which numbered more than eight hundred at this edition, while beginning to make helpful comparisons between the season’s latest trends.

In this sense, of great inspiration was the trend presentation of the famous designer Walter Rodriguez, who is also the curator of “Connexao Inspiramais”, which welcomed visitors at the show’s entrance by outlining the trends that will be the protagonists of the coming winter season. As always, the showcase was set up using its original winning formula of 60+30+10%, respectively representing trends of mass appeal, original trends that are worth wagering on, and the most innovative and experimental trends aimed at a market niche. Together, this offering provided useful ideas to industry professionals for the opening of the purchasing season.

The numbers of the event also met up with expectations: along the corridors overflowing with visitors, business negotiations equal to 8.26 million dollars were successfully concluded. A business that was further boosted up by the presence of a delegation of thirty or so buyers coming from Columbia, India, Mexico, Peru, the United Arab Emirates, and Asia, as part of the Projecto Comprador initiative.

Another strength of the Inspiramais show was the strong integration between the various sectors, which were duly represented by the joint participation of Assintecal—the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components and Accessories for Leather, Footwear and Manufactured Goods, CICB —the Centre of Brazilian Tanning Industries, and Abit – the Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association. “We are an integrated chain – was the comment of Ilse Guimarães, Superintendent of Assintecal –and we work every day together to strengthen this alliance, so that our interaction with national and international markets will always generate the very best results”.

The next edition of Inspiramais will be held from 15 to 16 January, for the presentation of the summer 2019 trends.
