_d0c1095Tradition, innovation, training, attention to quality and to new trends make Cuoio di Toscana the leading consortium in the production of sole leather with a market share of 80% in Europe and 98% in Italy. The consortium, which has a total turnover of €150 million a year, was created with the aim of speaking up in the world for the tanning district.

A world to which the district has addressed with decision, given that 50% of what it produces is intended for export.

It is a highly appreciated product when one considers that brands like Gucci, Prada, Ferragamo, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Louboutin, Jimmy Choo and many others are among the luxury brands that choose Cuoio di Toscana branded leather soles.

Seven are the companies of the Cuoio di Toscana brand between Santa Croce sull’Arno (Bonistalli and Stefanelli Spa) and San Miniato (CMC International Spa Group, Conceria Gi-Elle-Emme Spa, Otello Cuoificio, Lamonti Cuoio Spa, Conceria 3S Srl and Volpi Concerie Srl), which together employ 200 people.

_mg_5037Companies that consider the slow vegetable tanning, an ancient process based on the use of natural tannins obtained from chestnut, mimosa and quebracho as an added bonus. It is a philosophy that brings together tradition and innovation: 10% of the Consortium’s annual turnover, amounting to 15 million euros, is invested in research and development. An attention that has led Cuoio di Toscana to design a traceability kit, which certifies the origin, quality and workmanship of the leather sole, thanks to a serial identification number and an integrated chip. And in order to preserve the sole leather quality in every processing stage, it comes with a branded protective film.

Participating in the main industry events, such as Lineapelle Milan, London and New York, Pitti Uomo, APLF – Asia Pacific Leather Fair in Hong Kong, Guangzhou Fair in China, Cuoio di Toscana leads new trends.
