Lineapelle, awards innovation and personalityNumbers, contents and trends confirm that Lineapelle maintains its leadership position as a leading international event for the global fashion and luxury industry, seeking innova- tive and stylistic stimuli in the field of leather and raw materials, accessories and components.
The edition held from 20 to 22 February at FieraMilano brought the offering of 1,254 exhibitors (+5% over February 2017) together with a demand represented by more than 20,000 visitors from 109 different nations: a turnout in line with the February 2017 edition, behind which can be glimpsed however, as confirmed by the exhibitors, “a greater qualification of customers, from designer luxury labels to the most important brands, as well as new realities of small and medium dimensions looking for more reliable partners at Lineapelle, who can provide a quality product, guaranteed service, and innovation”.
The outcome of Lineapelle reflected the current economic situation, which is characterised by caution and a careful selection of suppliers: those offering innovative samples in line with the trends for summer 2019 found their stands packed with visitors, as did those who showed daring through products of great personality. Among the sectors, leather goods demonstrated a good level of dynamism, while the approach of footwear was more cautious with a net preference for sneakers, and apparel started down the road to recovery.
Great interest was shown in the trend area, which with its theme “Empathy” presented the season’s latest trends, while helping to orient purchasing choices, proposing extremely luminous materials full of glitter, lamé, iridescences, prints, pearled decorations and reflections; dazzling and iridescent finishes, serigraphed and pearled leathers in bright, but not over the top, colours; leathers with a soft hand in versatile colours used as a base for plotters, lasering, appliqués, and metallic glitter; and innovative matchings with fabrics, synthetics, and unique materials.
In addition to its products, Lineapelle also hosted the conference “Tanning and chemical products” promoted by UNIC- the National Union of the Tanning Industry and COTANCE – the Confederation of National Associations of Tanners, offering the perfect opportunity for exchanging information and for networking among the sector’s stakeholders.
The next edition of Lineapelle will be held from 25 to 27 September for the launching of the FW 2019-20 collections.
