The judging panel considered a number of different criteria when deciding upon the winners, including their use of technical innovation, environmental awareness, ethical working conditions, community awareness, but also the creation of solid partnerships with clientele and economic sustainability. Interhides Thailand received the Global Winner award, while Mississippi TanTec shared second place with Xingye.

Mississippi TanTec (MTL) is in fact the third facility constructed by the ISA TanTec Group to follow the layout, structure, and working methods of pre-existing, not to mention successful, sites in China and Vietnam.

Established in 2014, Mississippi TanTec fulfilled the company’s vision of founding a “Made in the USA” leather production facility, while creating a new source of jobs for the residents of Warren County, which will see 360 new jobs created over 5 years. Thanks to this local reality, ISA TanTec is capable of shortening delivery times and shipping directly to customers present in the United States, Mexico, Central America, and the Dominican Republic.
