Perspair, the future of the upper is already hereFrom Smart Textile Solutions an innovative material that is not a jersey nor a knitted base, but a very reliable woven material, made from high tenacity Polyamide, which uses the Combo Technology to bond fibers together in order to make breathable and resistant seamless uppers.

Better quality, high mechanical performances, better production control, flexibility and customisation: these are some of the qualities that PERSPAIR gives to the products that choose to use this innovative material.

PERSPAIR, already used by many important brands (among which Scarpa, Bicap, Cofra, just to name a few), is made using the Combo Technology, an innovative technique that makes fibres bond together, giving to the material high mechanical performances that can be used in different sectors, besides that of uppers for seamless shoes for which they are born. The advantages offered by this new technology are: high breathability; maximum abrasion resistance; lightness; minimum fraying on cut edges; good seam slippage resistance.

Besides these qualities there are other advantages that have positive effects on the manufacturing stage, like the possibility to manufacture small lots, to customise low cost models and to almost completely cut labour cost in upper manufacturing. The many pluses of PERSPAIR can be appreciated, for example, if one thinks about children’s shoes. In fact, from one metre of fabric it is possible to obtain about 20 pairs of shoes at a very attractive cost.

Lastly, the new material designed by Smart Textile Solutions can be combined with other advanced technologies like: Hypertex, to fight abrasion; Reflex 3M®, a retro-reflecting threads woven into the fabric; Kevlar® to reinforce specific areas of interest. Or it can be made stretch using Lycra®, with different levels of elasticity in different areas of the shoe, or water-repellent, or waterproof thanks to the lamination with different types of membranes, etc.
