Record turnout at Fashion World Tokyo 2017
In Tokyo, the largest fashion trade show held from 11 to 13 October, 2017, at Tokyo Big Sight ended with a +5% in visitor turnout.
Seven trade shows in one: the formula of Fashion World Tokyo, with its seven fairs offering a complete panorama onto the fashion industry, with men’s and women’s fashion wear, bags and leather goods, shoes, jewellery, textiles, and apparel sourcing, has proven itself to be a winning one. The edition that just ended this past 13 October brought 917 exhibitors together with a total of 17,668 visitors, in what is the highest turnout ever recorded by the event organised by Reed Exhibitions Japan. This is yet another confirmation of the event’s role as a platform for increasing business in Japan and throughout all of Asia, as affirmed by buyers taking part in the event: “I believe Fashion World Tokyo is the ideal platform for bringing businesses together with buyers coming from different parts of the world, who would otherwise not normally come into contact with one another. – declares Naoya Inoue, President of MAGAseek Corporation – I am sure that this show will allow fashion to make headway in Japan and all of Asia”.
Among the latest trends at the fair were new projects and collections, as well as new important participations, like the European collective that presented a selection of businesses coming from Italy, France, and Romania: “At what is my second edition of the fair, I am very satisfied with the results – was the comment of Sina Noori from France – We met up with around thirty buyers, owners of stores, boutiques, and even wholesalers: contacts coming from China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, and India. At Fashion World Tokyo, I believe I have found the right platform for expanding our business in Japan and Asia”. The American collective, instead, exhibited in the American Street area: “As a first edition – was the sentiment expressed by Yekim LLC – we are satisfied and we made contact with many large distributors coming not only from Japan, but also from Canada and South Africa. The event is allowing for the internationalization of our brand and we can’t wait to see what will happen in the future”.An equal number of interesting opportunities will be offered up by the next edition of Fashion World Tokyo to be held from 4 to 6 April 2018, always at Tokyo Big Sight.
