Aware that in many cases its products are only one of the components of a finished product, LANZI has always set itself the goal of creating a detail that makes a technical and aesthetic difference.
This is also demonstrated by the recent study carried out in collaboration with Professor Pierandrea Lo Nostro and Professor Moira Ambrosi of the “Ugo Schiff” Chemistry Department of the University of Florence, as part of the research tender E-LASTIC (Project financed with Tuscan POR FESR 2014-2020), aimed at the implementation of “Industry 4.0” production processes.
Nanoparticles of Silver Nitrate, in a concentration of 1:10000, were added to the solution normally used for the finishing of elastics, or for the “dressing” treatment that occurs after the weaving process and before packaging.
Three bacterial strains were tested on the samples thus obtained: Staphylococcus Aureus, Staphylococcus Haemolyticus and Staphylococcus Xylosus. Laboratory analysis revealed an inhibition ring surrounding the elastic tape fragment: in all cases, the bacteria do not grow close to the tissue, but are eliminated up to a certain distance from the edge.
