The 64th edition of AYMOD – International Footwear Fashion Fair brought together some of the giants of the international footwear production. Not an easy task considering the situation created by the pandemic.
Organised in complete safety, it gathered over 1,000 brands and welcomed thousands of national and international professionals, along with buyer delegations from over 50 countries.
The exhibition showcased the new collections of men’s, women’s and children’s footwear, both in the classic and sports version and handmade.
AYMOD, organised by the subsidiary CNR Holding, Pozitif Trade Fairs, with the collaboration of TASD (Footwear Industrialists Association of Turkey) and TASEV (Turkish Footwear Industry Sector, Research, Development and Education Foundation), and the support of the Ministry of Commerce of the Republic of Turkey and KOSGEB (Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organisation), welcomed thousands of visitors presenting exceptional footwear for the next season: from the most precious models made of alligator worth 10,000 dollars, to the most particular shoes with hidden compartments to conceal valuables during travel, up to shoes with air conditioning system and dirty air exhaust, shoes for skin-friendly diabetics. Without forgetting the many ‘traditional’ proposals and the many and unmissable sneakers.
The Turkish footwear industry, which employs 300,000 people in over 12,000 businesses, has made its presence felt at AYMOD, which meets the footwear needs of almost 600 million people in the surrounding region. So did ASSOCALZATURIFICI (The National Association of Italian Footwear Manufacturers) which participated in the exhibition with 20 world-famous Italian companies. Also Ukraine was strongly present with a collective belonging to the largest trade union in the country, ‘Ukrainian Leather and Shoes Union’. Hosting buyer delegations from more than 50 countries from Russia to Ukraine, the United States to Europe, AYMOD has generated billions of dollars in trade.
