Specialised in the production and marketing of goatskins and cross-bred leathers destined mostly for the footwear, leather goods, and apparel industries, Conceria Nuvolari continues to innovate in the sign of sustainability by presenting a SS2021 collection of leathers at Lineapelle that are completely metal-free and sustainable. Fruit of patents coming from the company’s Monte Urano laboratories, the leathers of the collection are not just sustainable, but also value the features of durability, breathability, temperature regulation, colourfastness, and resistance to chafing and abrasion at the same time.

“We implemented a palette of glossy and matte colours – explains Sara Santori, owner of the tannery – and perfected the concept of personalised prints: starting from the disc provided to us by the customer, we can imprint even complex patterns without the leather losing any of its metal-free and biodegradable properties. The same is true of the new waterproof and non-drip leathers. In the suede category, the evolution presents a biodegradable recycled plastic finish, which is capable of conveying a special glittery effect to the product. There is then Allure®, which is enriched by Allure Brush nappa leathers finished through the application of a layer of wax that makes the leather extraordinarily glossy, without altering its biodegradable properties. Finally, the Skin Goat® ultra-breathable lining was made using the Nature-L® tanning method, which combines two innovations in just one leather”.

Conceria Nuvolari recently did a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of its Nature-L® leather (metal-free and biodegradable) in accordance with the PEF (Product Environmental Footprint) method, confirming the sustainability of the tanning processes used to produce it: the results of the test will be made public during the CSR and Social Innovation Exhibition to be held at the Università Bocconi in Milan on 29 and 30 September 2020.
