The format of the edition will be physical, but with dates postponed to 4-6 May 2021: the 45th edition of Fimec, the Brazilian Fair of Leather, Chemicals, Components and Equipment for Footwear and Tanneries, which will be held at the Fenac Pavilions in Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul under the organisation of Fenac, accordingly hopes to reschedule its dates to a time of year that will be sufficiently safe. The organisers explain that the previous dates in March would have been too risky for a number of reasons: possible restrictions to international travel created by the pandemic, uncertainty on the availability of the Covid-19 vaccine, but also market instability in relation to raw material availability for assembling equipment.
Fimec accordingly aligns its dates to coincide with the transferred dates of other international trade fairs in the leather-footwear industry: “We looked carefully at the current scenario and based on conversations with all sector players at the fair, including buyers, supporters and international exhibitors – explains Fenac CEO, Marcio Jung – we felt it would be better to postpone Fimec until May 2021”.
In addition to changing its dates, Fimec announces the confirmation of three major new sponsors for the 45th edition: Transduarte, Sicredi Pioneira RS and the multinational Covestro. “Considering the current economic scenario – states Marcio Jung – the fact we can already count on the support of these three major sponsors, highlights the relevance of Fimec as a strategic event within the footwear manufacturing chain. We know the May 2021 edition will be especially important for the return of the sector”.
Fimec 45 will accordingly be an edition in the spirit of recovery and the desire to return to do business in-person.
