AEC, organiser of FUTURMODA, announces the cancellation of the 45th edition of the International Exhibition dedicated to Leather, Components and Machinery for footwear and leather goods. As for other fashion events around the world, the decision is due to the persistence of the pandemic and travel restrictions. The international public of the event would have problems attending it.
The dates of the fair had already been postponed from March to 7 and 8 April: to fill the void generated by the cancellation of the physical fair, AEC is preparing initiatives that allow in one way or another to promote the event by entrusting it to the digital channel. On 7 and 8 April it will thus probably be possible to hold presentations of trends for the next Autumn-Winter 2022-23 season, presentations on digitisation and sustainability, enhancing the sector and its companies.
To entrepreneurs and exhibitors who express their desire to return to the fair, organisers respond as follows: “We are deeply sorry for this decision, aware of what it means for our sector, both economically and commercially, especially in these challenging times that our sector is going through. On behalf of AEC we ratify our will and commitment to hold the fair again when there will be a positive evolution of the situation, as well as a specific legal framework, which allows us to plan safely the return to exhibition activities”.
If the situation improves, FUTURMODA will return on 20 and 21 October 2021, with the hope of having the maximum participation of national and international exhibitors.
