The size of the facility is 28,500 square meters, covering numerous buildings including manufacturing, wastewater treatment plant, dormitory, canteen and parking lots. The construction of the facility is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
“TransAsia TanTec is building on a 61,500 square meter site, which will provide sufficient room for further expansions. It is strategically located in Tay Ninh Province, with a close geographical proximity to its existing tannery in Binh Duong Province and also to Ho Chi Minh City as business hub in Vietnam”, said Uwe Hutzler, CEO of ISA TanTec
“While adopting best sustainable practices from the existing tanneries, the floor layout of the new tannery is set up by following Lean principles, based on a study led by Porsche Consulting and ISA. Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) will be implemented from the beginning stage to collect smart data which lays the foundation for ISA Industry 4.0 approach”, said Tiago Horn, COO Asia, ISA TanTec.
“The setup of the new tannery is expected to create1,000 jobs in the long run. The strategic Lean production layout will compensate for projected aggressive labor cost increases in the coming years”. Added Jens Kaufhold, CFO Vietnam & USA, ISA TanTec.
