An landslide led to the appointment of Leonardo Volpi, entrepreneur of the Conceria Volpi in Ponte Egola, as president of the Consortium of Genuine Italian Vegetable Tanned Leather. The new president takes over the lead from Simone Remi, whom Leonardo Volpi thanks for having “directed the Consortium for years with excellent results”, and will be supported in his work by the vice presidents Massimo Boldrini and Paolo Testi.
“My goal as the new President – Leonardo Volpi says – will be to carry on the project started in these years for the promotion and internationalisation of vegetable-tanned leather: this will only be possible through a teamwork of the entire Council and its members. To face the battles that await us in the near future we must continue to collaborate as colleagues rather than competitors”.
Cooperation is therefore the aspect on which he wants to leverage to get out of this particular moment and to pursue ambitious goals: “I believe this is the spirit that has allowed a group of companies led by entrepreneurs, longtime friends, to achieve important goals at international level, ensuring that today the Genuine Leather Consortium is recognised as an Italian reference point in Vegetable Tanning, and not just that”.
Contextually to the appointment of the new president, the directors for the two-year period 2021-22 were elected: Michele Battaglia, Manuel Casella, Andrea Ghizzani, Stefano Pinori, Paolo Quagli, Simone Remi, Martina Squarcini and Luca Tempesti.
