What is the difference between upcycling and downcycling? How can LCA be calculated? What is Lyocell? If you’re not sure, starting today you can now find the answers in the “Glossary of Sustainable Fashion”, the new and authoritative resource for information on sustainable fashion and the role of the fashion industry in the climate emergency published by Condé Nast in collaboration with the Centre for Sustainable Fashion (CSF) of the London College of Fashion. It’s a free, online resource (available at condenast.com), drawn up with the contribution of the chief editors of Vogue and an international network of sustainable fashion experts, with the aim of reinforcing and developing an understanding of the concept of sustainability in the world of fashion.
Easy to use, the glossary is divided into four themed areas: climate emergency, the environmental impact of fashion; the economic, cultural, and social impact of fashion; and fundamental notions of fashion and sustainability. Every term has a series of accurate definitions that can be referred to for further reading.
